Help with fall and winter fashion? Please?

I am not nor have I ever been one of those girls that goes with the “fads” or just whatever was popular at the moment. I have always had a casual yet elegant flare in my wardrobe - natural colors including dark greys, stormy blues, forest and emerald greens, blacks, browns, and autumn rusty oranges and maroons. I prefer sweaters with reserved cuts (no plunging necklines unless there’s a lace cami under there), etc.

I am very low income at the moment, so I do a lot of my clothes shopping at thrift shops. (If not, Wal-Mart and Target are my favs.) What can I do to spice up this style? Scarves? Leg warmers? Something to add more to my wardrobe so that it stands out a little bit more. I have just transferred to a new college and Fall Session starts tomorrow (yikes!) so this is sort of my procrastinated school shopping time, lol.

Any ideas to make my natural colors and casual attire stand out? If it helps, I have long, straight brown hair with natural copper highlights, very pale skin, and dark grey, almost stormy eyes, so if you are going to suggest a color you have an idea of what does and doesn’t work for my appearance.

Please help! Thanks.
Thanks Otter Boy (Not). At least when you are going to insult someone check your grammar first. Or don’t you know the difference between “to” and “two”?

I always find some good accessories will jazz up any plain outfit. Get a few pairs of cute earrings and maybe some bracelets? Scarves are good as well. A cute knit hat if you live in an area that’s cold enough (I don’t, haha). Also, a good investment piece would be a nice colorful wool peacoat (you could always get it in black, but I think it’d be more fun to get it in a nice subtle color, like emerald green or a dark plum?).

Hair accessories go along the same lines with the jewelry. Get some cute headbands (they also work for those mornings where you don’t feel like styling your hair or wake up late!), some cute clips (not talking about those 5th grade butterfly ones…. maybe some plaid ones, or some faux pearls ones for a pin-up look?), etc.

Layering is always good, too. Instead of wearing sweaters all the time, see if you can layer any of your pieces so you can still be somewhat warm (t-shirts, camis, thin longsleeve shirts, cardigans, etc.).

Makeup is another way to subtly enhance features. A bold fall lip color (like a dark wine) would be a really great way to stand out while looking classy. Maybe some warm blush tones as well?

definetly some scarves and maybe a neutral kacki jacket. since these are just signatire pieces it might be nice to splurge on them. American Eagle has a lot of cute scarves and aeropostale has some jackets for like $30-70. not bad.
