What living room furniture are good for a high shedding dog?

I am in the market for some new furniture and I would like to know what furniture would stand up to teenagers and an elderly dog whose habits I do not intend to break. leather or something similar. if you have a fabric that’s not smooth, the dog hair can get caught in it and be extremely hard to remove.

You could actually get any kind you find visually attractive. My mom used slip covers when I was a kid. By the time we moved out 8 yrs had gone by and when she removed the cover (after we 8 kids left) the couch looked like new. Cleaning is a breeze, you buy 2 covers and while one is being cleaned you will always be protected.
This is a very economical way to go.
